HI
just bought True Image to clone my Lenovo T430 hard drive (on a 512 Gb Crucial M4 SSD) to a new Crucial M4 512 Gb SSD on USB.
I immediately get
Error code: 10 'File system error is found'
with extended code: 458,774 'Block bitmap corrupted'
Event code: 0x000A0001+0x00070016
Any ideas?
Thanks
Miguel

Hi Miguel,
Please run chkdsk [x]: /r on the source disk where x is the drive letter. Then perform the back up operation again.

Miguel,

Is your laptop drive using BitLocker or any other similar kind of drive security?

I have run into this same exact situation Windows 8.0. There is no BitLocker and the SSD drive does not have errors even though TI 2013 or 2014 shows there is an error. If you try to clone SSD to SSD it will not work! I had to Clone SSD to SATA then SATA to SSD then all worked ok. Several laptops upgrading SSD drive to a larger or even same size drive, all the same results. This was tried on various SSD drives from various companies.

Ronnie,
Have you tried to restore a disk image backup from an SSD to an SSD?
Booted from the TI Recovery CD for the Recovery process.
This should be possible and should not take any longer but would be safer.

Because it is Lenova, the target disk needs to be mouted on same connnectors as original disk before cloning or restoring.
Look forward to your response.

Resurrecting old thread, but I'm having this same issue. Went through chkdsk /r and it still won't go forward with the cloning.

Please specify version of True Image and make model of drives involved. Also if laptop or desktop, computer brand, version of Windows installed, and did you attempt the clone while computer booted to Windows or booted from bootable recovery media?

Derek,
There is much we do not know about what you have tried as listed above.

Normal procedure is
1 Attach blank target disk inside the computer on same connectors as old.
2. Attach master source disk to an external or other alternate location.
3. Clone from source/original to blank disk. Be careful to choose the correct disks to avoid a data disaster.
4. Reboot following the clone with only the new disk attached.

Read some of the tips here about do's and don'ts.

The preferred safest metho to make your disk copy is to
do a disk image backup and then restore the backup onto the new disk.
Using the backup and restore method, your master source disk is not at risk of a USER mistake,
or if something goes wrong.

Additionally, is your error the exact same as the original poster of this thread and do or did you see a reference in the error about MFT?
